Jackman’s Final Outing – Logan’s Roadtrip

Dating back to the 18th of January, the third (or second if you believe what some sites have told us) and final trailer for 20th Century Fox’s Logan dropped for the nerdy world to savour over. The trailer, which features Messrs Stewart and Jackman as the aged Professor Charles Xavier and weakened Logan aka Wolverine as they essentially babysit the young new mutant X-23 (played by Dafne Keen) across the post-apocalyptic Texas wasteland.

The trailer is every bit as intriguing and action-packed as you would imagine Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine would be. From the guttural, primal screams from Logan himself as he charges claws-first into yet another bad-guy mercenary to the more sombre tones of the conversations between the long-time friends who clearly start to face their own mortality in the movie. It may be too early to tell from the mere couple of minutes of screen time she’s had thus far, but Dafne Keen’s X-23 could end up stealing the show.

The vibe from this trailer is almost like a cross-country road-trip at times, with Logan and X-23 featuring together in a car as they travel, quite possibly, across the country. The action is fast, and frantic, and we actually get proof that this little girl is X-23 as she unsheathes two claws from her hands, much the same as the character of the same name from the comics.

It’s a sad note to think that Hugh Jackman will not be appearing as Wolverine any more after Logan, but from the look of the trailer; A) the role of “new Wolverine” is definitely going to be in safe hands should they ever want to go down that route with X-23, and B) this is definitely going to be an impressive swan-song for the character.

Logan will be in cinemas everywhere from the 3rd of March 2017.
