It is a glorious time to be alive my friends.

If you have access to Amazon Prime Video and share an interest in the superhero genre, which I imagine you do if you’re reading this blog, then do I have some great news for you all.

As we covered a short while ago, the Amazon Original Series The Tick is coming to an internet enabled device near you soon, as the latest teaser trailer announced exactly when the Wild Blue Yonder will pop up next.

Starring Peter Serafinowicz as the titular Tick, the newest trailer features the logo floating in the air before giving way to the phrase “Fear not, citizens. He’s on his way.”

From there, the glorious blue forehead of the Tick pops up, complete with his antenna, along with the numbers “8 25 17” – meaning the first series officially starts on the 25th of August, hopefully in Britain at the same time as the States.

Amazon’ The Tick is the latest in a line of Tick themed media that started when Ben Edlund created the spoof character tp help promote and advertise the New England Comics.

From there, the Tick went on to have his own independent line of comics in 1988 before making the leap to a decent-lengthed animated series on FOX.

From there, FOX tried their hand at bringing the character to the live-action forum when they produced the Patrick Warburton lead The Tick series.

Unfortunately, this series did not last long, being cancelled after only 9 episodes.

Now though, Amazon look to bring the character back into the forefront of popular culture with this series.

Starring the aforementioned Peter Serafinowicz as The Tick, as well as Griffin Newman as Arthur, the Tick’s hapless sidekick, Valorie Curry as Dot Everest, Arthur’s sister, Brendan Hines as Superian, Jackie Earle Hayley as The Terror, and Yara Martinez as Ms Lint.

Amazon’s the Tick will hopefully be coming to Amazon Prime Instant Video on the 25th of August, 2017.
