So, we’re finally here.
Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Homecoming is finally upon us.
And ahead of the films’ release on 5th July, the studio released a teaser to get us amped up for the web head’s most recent outing.
And we, of course, have some comments on it.
Whilst no *new* content has been released in this trailer, we did see more of the humour and comedy elements that only a Spider-Man title could deliver.
There’s the usual added Tony Stark that has left the internet with an unpleasant taste in their collective mouths, but he appears for a mere few seconds, so you could almost argue that he doesn’t even appear.
We get a slightly bigger indication on how school-orientated this Spider-Man is going to be, as we get shown him attending detention.
Spider-Man: Homecoming was released in cinemas in the UK on 5th July, and this teaser acted as a way of getting us amped up and ready – much in the same way this post has tried to do.
With Tom Holland’s appearance in Spider-Man, Marvel’s Phase 3 is well and truly on a wave of new characters that includes Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Mantis, with Captain Marvel and the Wasp still to come.
Holland has proven he’s up to the task of being everyone’s favourite arachnid-based superhero, and hopefully, Marvel’s success carries on.
And whilst we’re on the subject of Spider-Man and Marvel, Kevin Feige has made the announcement that Venom (in the solo Sony Venom spin-off movie starring Tom Hardy) will not be connected to the MCU, information that was confirmed by Sony producer Amy Pascal.
We’ve wondered if it were the case, and remained hopeful at the fact that there might be a bigger Spider-Man side of the Marvel Universe shared between the studios.
But as Feige has mentioned on a number of times; “Never say never.”
Starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron-Man, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Michael Keaton as the Vulture, Tony Revolori as Manuel, Laura Harrier as Liz Allan, Bokeem Woodbine as Shocker, and Donald Glover as Aaron Davis*
*Aaron Davis, in the comic books, is the uncle to Miles Morales, the future Spider-Man within the Ultimate Spider-Man series. Just a little Easter Egg/piece of Nerd Knowledge to impress your friends down the pub later with 😉
