Warner Bros. is looking to produce a new movie, with Margot Robbie and Jared Leto in the lead, to capitalise on their performance in 2016’s Suicide Squad.
Yes, as reported by Screen Rant, DC Entertainment’s President & CCO Geoff Johns will produce Harley Quinn Vs The Joker.
Whilst there’s not much in terms of release dates or any form of a production timeline readily available in this early stage – hence the really short post – the movie is set to be an accompaniment to the Suicide Squad sequel, as well as the Gotham City Sirens movie, which would also feature Harley Quinn, as played by Margot Robbie.
If the proposed movie proves fruitful, it may act to quell the criticisms and complaints about the abusive relationship between the Joker and Harley.
I mean, it’s not like they have an abusive relationship in the comics…or the cartoons…or the video games already.
I don’t know, Hollywood glamorising domestic violence.
At the very least, the studios have big plans for the DCEU and for the Suicide Squad franchise in particular, which could be…good, I think.
Watch this space I suppose.
