Han Solo Solo Spin-off Movie Might Be Getting a Little Bit “Spicey”

It’s been a fair while since we’ve had any Star Wars news here at WTNH, which is quite naughty of us I admit, especially as there’s a new movie right around the corner!

Sorry about that, everyone.

Let’s rectify that a little with some Han Solo solo movie news, shall we?

Ron Howard, whom you may remember has recently taken on the role of director following the previous directors’ firings, has been making some headway in getting the film back on track.

He took to Twitter to leak a teaser image from the Han Solo film. Now when we say ‘teaser’ image, it really is; there’s barely anything to go on from it.

Howard’s been really cryptic about it all as well, posting the image with just the word “spicey?”.

“What could it mean?” I hear you ask? Well, some hardcore fans of that Galaxy Far, Far Away will likely realise that the clues point to one of the defining moments in Han Solo’s life; making the Kessel Run.

The Kessel Run is the route smugglers would take to push the spice mined from Kessel, and as Harrison Ford famously announced, he made the run in 12 parsecs.

So, with the image, which looks admittedly like a mine shaft of some description, along with Howard’s use of the term “spicey”, there seems to be only one conclusion to come to.

So, it looks like we may finally get to see the most famous run in Sci-Fi history.

Based on a script written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan, the Han Solo solo spin-off movie stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, along with Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Woody Harrelson.

The movie is, as yet, untitled though highly likely to be simply “Han Solo: A Star Wars Story”, and is scheduled for a cinematic release on 25th May 2018, which is nice because that’s the date that the first Star Wars movie debuted in cinemas in America, 41 years ago.
