We can finally call the Han Solo solo spin-off movie by something other than the Han Solo solo spin-off movie – about time too, I’ve been begging for Disney and Lucasfilm to announce the official name for months now!
And the news came from that lovely specimen of film goodness, director Ron Howard.
Taking to Twitter, Howard posted a video detailing how they had just finished production on the movie and, well, check it out yourself;
So, there we have it.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story”
Obviously, there are similarities between this and the previous Star Wars spin-off movie, Rogue One, whose full title also included the “A Star Wars Story” tag.
Of course, this news is great – especially for people like myself who have to take to live radio and announce the movie by such stupid names as we see above – but there’s little else in terms of narrative, other than that it will centre around everyone’s favourite smuggler before the events of Episode IV.
Starring Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, as well as Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Woody Harrelson, Solo: A Star Wars Story hits cinemas 25th May 2018 in the UK.
