We’ve waited patiently for a trailer for Warner Bros. long-discussed Rampage movie adaptation, and this week, we finally received one.

Starring Dwayne Johnson as Davis Okoye, the movie will pit his character against three hulking goliaths; a crocodile, a wolf, and an albino gorilla named George.

The main monster in the movie, George and Okoye have a tight-bond friendship that began when Okoye saved the gorilla when he was just a baby.

The pair grew up together, and today enjoy a close friendship, at least, until a gene-altering bomb ended up in George’s enclosure in the zoo.

The bomb caused George, a wolf and a crocodile to go through a bit of a growth spurt, gaining height and mass…and a nasty change in their attitude.

It’s like they all became moody teenagers or something.

George, a normally gentle little beast, becomes a rage-fueled monster.

And, because of human arrogance on the part of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character, the three monsters are all unleashed on Chicago, leaving Okoye to step up to stop them.

You can view the trailer here;

A live-action adaptation of the 1980s arcade game franchise that allowed players to choose between the three distinct monsters, including; a giant gorilla, a giant lizard, and a giant werewolf – basically the same characters present in the movie.

The difference between the game and the movie’s monsters are that the games’ monsters used to be humans before a freak lab accident transformed them.

Creative liberties are a wonderful thing.

Rampage will be in the cinemas 20th April 2018 and stars Dwayne Johnson as Davis Okoye, Joe Manganiello as Burke, Breanne Hill as Amy, Jason Liles as George (pre-CGI), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Naomie Harris, Malin Ackerman, Jake Lacey, PJ Byrne, Mary Shelton, and Jack Quaid in unannounced roles.

The movie is directed by Brad Peyton, whose previous movies included San Andreas, which also starred Johnson.
