The recent spate of 20th Century Fox related X-Men news just keeps growing.
According to Deadline, the studio is looking to develop a film starring X-Men/X-Factor member Jamie Madrox, aka Multiple Man.
The movie is reportedly in development with James Franco as the title character, working on a script by Allan Heinberg – responsible for Wonder Woman‘s script.
Simon Kinberg, who is directing the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix movie, is set to produce as part of his Genre Films, alongside James and Dave Franco’s Ramona Films who are all working in collaboration with 20th Century Fox.
Jamie Madrox was created by Len Wein, Chris Claremont and John Buscema for 1975’s Giant-Size Fantastic Four #4, Multiple Man started life out as an antagonist against the likes of the Fantastic Four, before becoming a recurring character within the Uncanny X-Men series in the 1980s.
He would then land a starring role in Peter David and Larry Stroman’s X-Factor series in the 1990s, before slipping slightly out of vogue in the latter part of the ’90s/early ’00s.
He would find resurgence in the Marvel MAX miniseries in the mid-’00s in a series titled “Madrox“. The character would later serve as a team leader of X-Factor and has recently been seen in the X-Men: The Last Stand wherein he was portrayed by Eric Dane of Grey’s Anatomy fame.
