2018 is going to be a blockbuster year for superhero films.
In February, we see the premier of one of the most hotly anticipated Marvel movies, Black Panther, then the culmination of some 18 or so movies as the Avengers finally come face-to-face with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, before Deadpool and co. mix things up and break down whatevers left of that fourth wall in Deadpool 2.
However, one of the better Marvel movies of the wider MCU will also have its sequel this year as well as Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly take centre-stage for this summer’s Ant-Man and the Wasp movie.
There’s not a whole lot known about the movie, however, other than that Michelle Pfeiffer is playing Janet Van Dyne aka The Wasp’s mother, so there’s at least some speculation that the size-altering superheroes will be making a trip to the Quantum Realm to try and rescue her.
The trailer dropped earlier this week, and, as you’ll be able to see below, the movie looks like it’ll feature all of the comedy and special effects that made Ant-Man 1 one of the best movies of the MCU thus far.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is due out in cinemas 3rd August in the UK (meaning it’s one of the few Marvel movies were America get it before we do, strangely enough), and stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/The Wasp, Laurence Fishburne as Dr Bill Foster/Goliath, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Judy Greer as Maggie Lang, Abbie Ryder Forston as Cassie Lang, Michael Peña as Luis, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, and Michael Douglas as Dr Hank Pym.
