On Sunday 4th February, the world (or at the very least, America) watched as the NFL hosted the Super Bowl, the 52nd in the sport’s illustrious history.
Many litres of beer were consumed as the New England Patriots faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles, with the Eagles coming out on top with a final score of 41 – 33.
Whilst many fans of the sport enjoyed the game, there was something else on offer for those of us not that interested in (America) Football; namely the half-time show and, more importantly, the advertisements which, this year, featured several teaser trailers for some of this year’s most-anticipated movies. And here’s the first; Star Wars spin-off movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
This is the second spin-off Star Wars movie (after 2015’s Rogue One), and, as you can probably work out, focuses on the early days of the Galaxy’s most infamous space smuggler, Han Solo.
The film synopsis reads as follows;
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.
Directed by Ron Howard and based off a script by Lawrence and Jon Jasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Michael K Williams and Woody Harrelson. The film will be in cinemas in 25th May 2018.
