What a week it’s been for comic book movie fans.
Sunday/Monday (depending on what side of the Pond you live), we got trailers for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Not was all great on its own, but then, Sony dropped the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Venom movie, starring Tom Hardy.
There’s no sign of Venom as a character within the trailer (after all, it is a teaser), but we get plenty of scenes of Tom Hardy looking impressive, broody, and, at one point, manic as though the Symbiote was about to take over his body – which it possibly was, if you look carefully.
Alongside the teaser, Sony also showcased the movie’s official logo and title font, which harkens back to the Venom series of Marvel comic books, circa 1993, which shouldn’t surprise anybody really, but it adds to the narrative of the movie, which is supposedly inspired by the Venom: Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes storylines.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer and based off of a script by Jeff Pinker and Scott Rosenberg, Venom stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Jenny Slate, Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed. The movie will be out in cinemas everywhere 5th October in the UK.
