Following on from our previous post about Kung Fury 2, there’s been another big name added to the cult movie’s sequel; none other than ’80s icon himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The news, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, means the former Governor of California will join Michael Fassbender in David Sandberg’s over-the-top hilarious homage to all the things that made the ’80s great, including; arcade games, Lamborghini Countach’s, and kung-fu action movies.
Schwarzenegger, famous for his roles as The Terminator, and in the Predator series, as well as The Expendables most recently, will bring an air of legitimacy to Sandberg’s movie tribute to the 1980s, and, capturing all of the political vim and vigor that he brought to the state of California from 2003 to 2011 as he is set to play the President of the United States.
Schwarzenegger, Sandberg, and Fassbender will all appear in the sequel, with Fassbender’s role still unknown, as well as David Hasselhoff who is said to be joining the film as well. The sequel will see Fury (Adam Sandberg) go up against a mysterious threat that is aiding Hilter, aka the Kung-Führer, in his ongoing quest to conquer the world after he travels through time to the present day.
Sandberg’s Laser Unicorn‘s banner will produce the movie alongside David Katzenberg, Seth Grahame-Smith, and Aaron Schmidt’s KatzSmith Productions, who also produced 2017’s It.
