Tom Holland ‘Reveals’ Spider-Man: Homecoming Sequel Title

That rapscallion known as Tom Holland has gone and done it again.

The young actor has already gained a reputation for spoiling some of Marvel‘s biggest films – so much so, that the studio had to keep him completely in the loop as to what was happening in Infinity War, and issued an NDA upon him.

With all of that going on, you’d imagine he’d have learned his lesson by now, surely.

Well, Tom took to his Instagram during the recent ACE Comic-Con in Seattle, WA to ‘share’ something with his fans.

Sorry for no announcements, but I love you guys ♥️

A post shared by Tom Holland (@tomholland2013) on

Posting on Instagram, Holland said;

“I wanted to apologise because there’s no real revelations coming out this weekend about Spider-Man 2. I don’t know much about it. I’m a little confused, because, I died, so I don’t really know how it all comes into play.”

Holland was, of course, referring to his character’s fate at the end of Infinity War where, SPOILER ALERT, Spider-Man is one of the many, many characters who perished following Thanos’ plan.

This isn’t the first time Holland has joked around concerning the fate of Spidey as he also recently posted on Twitter joking about how a Homecoming sequel would be impossible, all things considered.

Holland went on to say;

“…I got the new script. I’m super excited to read it, and it’s going to be great.”

Whether there was an intention there or not, Holland held up his iPad to reveal the title of the Spider-Man sequel – Far From Home.

The title is rather fitting as the movie will reportedly take Spidey away from his usual New York-confines and into other parts of the world, including London.

Thankfully, whilst a lot of speculation and rumour has surrounded Holland’s big reveal, the Man With the Plan has stepped up to put things right.

Speaking to CinemaBlendMarvel President Kevin Feige said how Far From Home is;

“similar [to Homecoming]. I won’t say what the meanings are, but we enjoyed that title, because, like Homecoming, it is full of alternate meaning. And we liked continuing the ‘Home’ thing, with the little Spider symbol in the ‘Home’.”

Whilst Tom Holland may be kept in the dark about such things, Kevin Feige is surely going to know what’s happening, and, at the very least, we have a title for the movie.

There’s been a fair bit of talk that Far From Home will pick up moments after Avengers 4 ends, and with the aftermath of that movie fresh in everyone’s minds, it’ll showcase the Webbed Wonder with a new suit as he returns from the dead. How his time spent in the Great Beyond has affected him will remain to be seen, but we do know that Far From Home will, essentially, bookmark the start of Marvel‘s Phase Four.

To be directed by Jon Watts, and starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Zendaya as Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes/Vulture, and Jake Gyllenhaal who is rumoured to play Quentin Beck aka Mysterio. Spider-Man: Far From Home is scheduled for a release sometime on or around 5th July 2019, subject to change.
