Tom Holland Would Love to Bring Tom Hardy’s Venom Into the MCU

Tom Holland had a wild weekend at the recent ACE Comic-Con in Seattle as he’s in the news again today.

The young Spider-Man: Homecoming actor has already made a shortlist of villains he’d like to face when Spidey finally reemerges from the dead, whenever and however that will come about.

And, taking a cue from the comic books that inspired both characters, Holland has said how he’d be willing to fight off with, perhaps, Spider-Man’s greatest nemesis; Venom.

In a move that would definitely unit the MCU with Sony‘s Spider-Verse, seeing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man clash with Tom Hardy’s Venom would be a great display worthy of a comic book movie.

As reported by, When asked which villain he’d like to see join the MCU, Holland gave a well-thought-out reply, responding with;

“Maybe Venom?”

Of course, whilst it would be a treat to see a proper Venom go up against Spider-Man on the big screen (no offence, Topher Grace), that simply isn’t in the cards right now. As stated numerous times in the past, Venom is, unfortunately, not a part of the deal that Marvel was able to strike up with Sony when they sought to bring Spider-Man into the MCU. Kevin Feige and the Russo Brothers have gone on record to confirm that Venom is not a part of the MCU.

However, with that being said, we might still get a slight glimpse at the showdown of the spiders as Holland is rumoured to appear in the upcoming Venom movie in a cameo role. Whilst it is currently unconfirmed, this might help to bridge the gap between the two studios and settle the whole “you can’t have Venom without Spider-Man” argument.

This is all speculation right now, and until Venom comes out, we won’t know for certain one way or another. Venom is scheduled to hit cinemas 5th October 2018 and stars Tom Hardy as Venom/Eddie Brock, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Riz Ahmed as Dr Carlton Drake, and Woody Harrelson, with Ruben Fleischer in the director’s chair.
